Pet Snake is the new solo venue of Liverpool-based artist Evelyn Halls who has made her return with the lovely single “Coffee.”

It’s a raw and personal slice of folk rock that has a lush dreamy style of production that serves as a perfect fit for her powerful vocals. The song is an anthem for “anyone who has felt like they’ve been tricked into intimacy and left feeling small and disposable.”

Detailing the inspiration behind “Cofee” she adds:

“I wrote this song about someone who manipulated their way into my life and then left in the cruelest of ways. When I’d think about them after things ended, I didn’t wish them any harm, or hurt- I just really hoped they were on their own and their manipulative behaviour had failed to snare anyone else. I wanted them to be lonely more than anything else. It’s an anthem for anyone who has felt like they’ve been tricked into intimacy and left feeling small and disposable. The way the track switches to this heavy, distorted and layered “mess” in the choruses and especially the build up at the end was heavily influenced by Mitski “Your Best American Girl”.”
