Shred Flintstone are a New Jersey-based indie rock outfit who won us over with relative ease just based off the title of their single “i want to get high but i’m too paranoid.” It also doesn’t hurt that the song slaps.
The song which is of course is “a song for all the people who get anxious when they’re stoned,” delivers a winning mix of synth indie rock and pop with a raw punk spirit that sounds like a wonderous mix of early Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Smiths Westerns and WAVVES. It’s oddly addictive and catchy as hell, without sacrificing any of its ideals along the way.
