The ever-talented Australian-based Jen Cloher has recently returned with their new record, I Am The River, The River Is Me, an album that was “inspired by their powerful matrilineal line of wāhine Māori” and made with “the care and ease of someone who knows that their past began before birth, and will continue long after they’re gone.”
A good introduction to the album comes with the album’s lead single “My Witch” a song that features a more soulful and introspective sound from Cloher, that still delivers that rocking guitar crunch, just with a bit more soul.
