Charleston-based indie rockers take us back to the 2000s with their single “New Sensations” that instantly delight with its energy and punchy effort.

The production and vocal work and collide into something immediate and effective, yet feels like the sort of indie rock sound that just doesn’t quite exist in this natural of a state anymore. It feels like the sort of hidden gem that would’ve been placed strategically on The O.C. (a good thing!).

Or as the band’s Patrick Donawa Morris describes it:

I wanted to create a large soundscape for this song and make it somewhat reminiscent of power rock 80s super hero sound track’s ala Last Action Hero or 80s Flash and also use that style to be somewhat satirical with the lyrics. The song starts by saying “We are the heroes of our time,” and it is slightly tongue and cheek but the idea is that the people who are the leaders among us and the “heroes” we are effected by the new age and even so less connected and less present and aware and more distracted, as if to say the new “villain” is less a physical threat, but more existential, omniscient and slower to the kill.
