London’s best kept seret, Lexie Carroll, has recently returned with her new single “violet”, which is the first taste of her new EP, which will be released in May.
The track continues the young but prolific songwriters’ steady rise, mixing elements of melancholic dream pop and indie folk pop into something that already seems like her signature brand. One that is equally moving as it is admittedly infectious beyond belief.
Speaking of the inspiration behind ‘violet’, Lexie explains:
“I wrote ‘violet’ because my friend was going through a difficult time and it was hard to get through to them. so in the song i’m just saying “hold on, i know your brain’s saying it won’t get better, but it will”.
