Austin, Texas dream-pop band Letting Up Despite Great Faults is preparing the release of an upcoming EP entitled Crumble which will be released right before their tour in Japan in April.
“Halfway Crooks” is a lead single from the album that continues the prolific band’s ability to create marvelously lush and dreamy 80s-inspired dream pop and shoegaze efforts that feels melancholic and romantic and full of endless possibilities. The term “Halfway Crooks” was taken tongue-in-cheek from Mobb Deep’s “Shook Ones, Pt II,” where they say there’s no such thing as a halfway crook. Here, the metaphor extends to relationships and how they can only really exist with full commitment.
