New York indie rock duo Hear Hear has won us over with relative ease on their new single “Defibrillator,” a tongue-in-cheek effort about the things that would make one’s heart stop, such as $20 ramen.
The track shines with a frantic and slick artful angular post-punk guitar work that still finds a way to be strangely addictive and catchy with one hell of a killer chorus. It manages to be a punk effort that still shines through with elements of straight-up power pop.
Or as they put it:
From the driving opening guitars and arresting lyrics (twenty dollar ramen, its delicious its a sin, life in Brooklyn, trying not to be toxic) to the expansive lush chorus (if my heart stops get the defibrillator) this song is a wild fun ride
