Brooklyn duo Collapsing Scenery have recently returned with their single “Gold Rush”, taken from their upcoming album A Desert Called Peace, which is out next week on March 10th.
“Gold Rush” is a thoughtful meditative atmospheric slice of 90s-inspired indie rock with an experimental side that is honed in just enough to present its emotive and melancholic ideas and sensibilities.
Or as they put it:
“Gold Rush” approaches the climate and biodiversity crises with gimlet-eyed nihilism. It’s a cri de coeur of apocalyptic joy, borne of hopelessness.
