triton. is the musical project of San Diego-based musician Scott Murphy, who returned on January 27th with his new album, Sundown in Oaktown. One of the lead singles and album highlights is the dreamy “alcatraz_”, which features Geoff Rickly and Tim Payne (LS Dunes, Thursday).
The track is bathed in a warm glow of melancholy and a late-night atmosphere that starts off as an introspective bedroom folk vibe before transforming into a more upbeat shimmering rocker, that at times feels like a mix of Alex G & Amen Dunes.
