Los Angeles slacker rockers Sheepfighter recently shared their debut single “Paycheck”, a song about the “disillusionment of watching your dreams crumble away amid the dull reality of 9-5 wageslavery”.
It’s a hell of a debut, as it could be mistaken for a great 90s indie rock offering of the past that got lost in the tape deck shuffle. Capturing a dreamy vocal presence full of melancholy, perfectly colliding with the fuzzy guitar work. It feels like a wonderful mix of Yuck, Built To Spill and Dinosaur Jr.
