Laveda, the Albany-based duo of Ali Genevich (vocals/guitar) and Jake Brooks (vocals/guitar/synths) have recently released new single “Clean,” taken from their upcoming new album, A Place You Grew Up In (due out April 14).

“Clean” is a devastating and quiet slice of ethereal dream pop and tender folk with a warm yet icy atmospheric quality to it. Like a whispered secret confession, blending elements of Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail and Big Thief.

Speaking about the single, “Genvich details:

I think for the first time I truly realised that growing up was an inevitable fate. It’s such a strange thing, knowing you’re only to grow further and further from innocence as life goes on. I never wanted to think about getting older as a kid, I wanted to stay eight years old forever. I think there’s a part of that feeling that will always stay with me.
