Waterfowl is the Toronto-based duo of Aaron Liang (guitar, drums, synths) and Matthew Lam (vocals, bass, synths) who are preparing for the release of their debut album, Habitat, which was recorded over the past year in their apartment, “drawing from over a decade of material and evolving musical styles.”
“Rain Song” is the latest single to be shared ahead of its release, a track that they describe as capturing the “surreal feeling of an observer looking out their window and witnessing increasingly extreme rain and flooding.” It features some lush guitar work and layers with a dreamy jangly spirit that feels like a mix of Pinback and Real Estate.
