Verner Calvin is the project of singer-songwriter Calvin Jordan who wrote their latest single “No Update” during a two year period he was separated from his wife while waiting for her immigration visa to be processed (they met in Taiwan, and he waited for her to come to the U.S.).
The track captures a heartfelt and emotional 90s indie rock and folk sound that sees him soundtrack the painful process and amount of time spent waiting essentially in real time on this recording. And the title of the track comes from his time serving as a caregiver for two developmentally disabled adults in the US.

No Update is a snapshot of the struggles we can endure before things change for the better. The song features real samples of stomping and knocking sounds from his client’s during this period. At the time of release Calvin’s wife Anna will have been living in the US for almost four months.
