Fleur bleu·e is a French band that makes music “music made of dreams and nightmares that calls our fragility to express itself.” In November they released their new EP, Star, a genre-bender that features offerings such as the standout single “Les étoiles.”
The track channels a blend of dreamy indie rock and pop that feels like it could have fit alongside a double bill with Stereolab. Lush and harmonious, it feels like you are floaty high in the sky during a crisp, chill, summer night.
Or as the band describes it:
The track tells of a flight forward to a brighter place, driven by a powerful and heady riff. The lyrics evoke the journey from a nightmare state of mind to a state of dream and fantasy. Dreams stand alongside the stars, which were once threatening but are now there to bring good luck and confidence in the future.
