Maya Ruth is a 22-year-old songwriter/guitarist, born and raised in NYC. She leads a double life, playing guitar for the all-girl rock band Homade and also juggling studying at Yale University. But based on her debut single “bell jar’ it’s safe to say that she has a career in music in her future.
“bell jar” captures an enchanting blend of bedroom rock with a bit of a 90s Radiohead feel and a psych-leaning dreamy quality that captures that flight-descending feeling and floatiness. As far as debut singles come, this is radiant.

Crunchy, phased guitar with a melodic bassline and soft, dreamy vocals, this song is about thinking yourself in circles, feeling like you’re always second best, and culminates in a visceral guitar solo. Been perfecting for over two years – this is my debut single!
