Canadian singer-songwriter KT Laine released her debut album Knock Knee late last November via Victory Pool, featuring the previously shared single “Dumpster Fire.”

Another highlight from the album is the opening cut “Again”, a vibrant folk effort that packs a strong emotional punch with a 90s-esque garage rock grit mixed with some playful keys – feeling like a welcome combination of Big Thief, Angel Olsen, and Sharon Van Etten. Not a bad set of comparisons.

Speaking on the song, Laine adds that the song was written when her partner at the time had just left for tour and Laine began to process the possibilities of ending the relationship

“At times I was grateful for that distance, and other times I really did mind that it was such a long way home. This song is a double edged sword in that way”
