Now Ex is the musical pseudonym of UK-based singer-songwriter and film director Nick Hampson, who started the project as both an outlet for his songwriting as well as a vehicle for creating music for his own upcoming feature film and TV projects.

In December he released his new EP, Where Did All The People Go, which features tracks like the standout single “All Is Not Lost.” It’s a bombastic 80s-inspired anthem of dramatic synth pop and new wave elements that leaves everything on the table in earnest fashion. It has elements of big gothic overtones that add to its flair.

Or as Hampson describes it:

All Is Not Lost is about finding hope in the face of depression and difficult times, and stepping up to the edge, but knowing deep down there’s something to step back for.
