Swedish post-punk band Alpha Pet returned last fall with their single “TV Personality”, their third ever.

The track channels some old-school post-punk and classic rock elements with a swagger-led vocal performance and some big buzzing fuzzy guitar work. Anthemic and punchy, the track soars with a mighty widescreen appeal and sensibility that often feels larger than life.

Singer Rocky Åberg on TV Personality adds some context on the track:

”It’s not really a shock is it? Finding out that the faces you see on TV aren’t the faces of saints. It shouldn’t be. Still, that’s the reaction every time some new shit gets dug up. We just got tired of that whole circus and had to get it out some way. Luckily for you it turned into a song with a pretty good chorus. Hopefully it will make us super famous so that we can experience this ‘corruptive power of fame’, the lonely feeling of being in the spotlight and the ‘complete darkness’ getting a full month’s pay for smiling into a camera for 38 minutes. That’s some rough shit.”
