French post-punk rockers THE PSYCHOTIC MONKS will return with their third album Pink Colour Surgery on February 3rd via Vicious Circle / FatCat Records.
First single “Post-Post-” is a thrashing and heavy-hitting primal post-punk sound that feels like a mix of the raw delivery of Gilla Band (no surprise as Gilla Band’s Daniel Fox produced it) with hints of the early days of Death From Above. Standing tall at 8 minutes, the track builds and builds while causing a sense of unease yet still somehow hooking you in with ease.
Speaking on the track the band adds:
“At first, Post-Post- seems to be like a 2-in-1 song. But in fact, it’s more like the two sides of the exact same coin, where the one part cannot exist without the other. It’s about one’s relation to their body and feelings, how to interact with other people and how to deal with them in a post-romantic, post-social, post-covid, post-post- world.”
