Nashville, Tennessee-based indie outfit The Sewing Club have recently hit back with their new single “Cool Girl”. The song is a song about people “only dating you because they think you make them look cool”.

It dives into a very 90s meditative and contemplative dreamy pop sound that feels like a blend of Snail Mail, Soccer Mommy and Alvvays – in other words, great stuff.

Or as the band fully expand below;

“Cool Girl” is about people only dating you because they think you make them look cool. It’s about building yourself up into someone that you’re not just to impress someone or somehow make them like you. And, it’s about having enough of that. We recording this one with fellow Nashville rocker Jared Corder of *Repeat Repeat in the hills of Hartsville, TN. Garage rock but in a field.
