Silver Liz, the Brooklyn-based duo of Carrie and Matt Wagner, just released their sophomore album, It Is Lighter Than You Think, which was released via their own record label, Extremely Pure.
One of the highlights of the record is the final pre-release single, “High At The Gym”, a gloriously sludgy garage rock slacker anthem that channels classics of the genre such as Dinosaur Jr., somehow also fitting in Beach Boys-esque vocals and elements of Japandroids and Ty Segall.
Another highlight is fellow single, “L.I.F.” a more mellow lo-fi 90s bedroom and alt-country blend that calls to mind the wistful daydream work of Alex G. Comparing both singles side to side, gives you a look at the diverse sound found on the record.
You can find both songs streaming below and check out the whole LP which is available to buy / stream at their Bandcamp.
