Riun Garner is a Canadian singer-songwriter from Vancouver, BC who we first shared on these pages when he released his debut EP, All We Know and All We Forget, back in 2020.
Over the summer Garner returned with his first bit of new music in two years, the personal and gorgeous single “Still Thinking Of Us.”
The track is a lovely ode to some classic folk rock, which showcases that songwriting talent from Garner that caught our attention in 2020, but from an even more mature standpoint.
About the track, Garner details:
Inspired by the bittersweet moments of a final road trip with a lover through Oregon state, ‘Still Thinking of Us’ is a conversation to oneself about the letting go of a relationship and the acceptance of it being for the best. The song holds sentimental gestures as almost a eulogy to the places visited and feelings had to be encapsulated in time. Partially recorded onto an old analog reel-to-reel tape machine, there’s a intimacy in the fluttering of the guitars and keys of the piano that remind us of a fragile heart in the throws of love.
