Austin-based singer-songwriter Lady Dan has returned with her new single “Fuck the Stars”, a song that they wrote after a breakup.
It carries the torch of classic folk-rock sounds, with an underlying power to it with some big blissful guitar work and production. Even with the crunch and powerhouse rocking transitions, there is a dreamy and lush nature to it with some warm ingredients that often feel quite otherworldly.
Speaking on the track, Lady Dan details:
“I wrote this song after a significant breakup. A friend was trying to comfort me by telling me the breakup was due to the placement of the moon and stars. All I could think in that moment was, ‘If this is true, then fuck the moon and fuck the stars.’ And regardless of astrology, breakups suck and they can just happen because they happened, not for any cosmic reason or otherwise.”
