Sea Hear Now returned to Asbury Park for its fourth annual year, sporting another great lineup of legendary artists of the past, mighty contemporaries of the present, and local acts and rising stars that will make up the live music scene future.
Our photographer Kevin McGann made the trek to the beachfront festival for Day 1 of the festival, which kicked off with a set from local act Dogs In A Pile, followed by pop duo Aly & AJ, and Canadian instrumental band Surfrajettes.
From there, it was a set from Nashville’s Annie Dirusso, that led into the modern reggae of Skip Marley, into the lively indie pop of Peach Pit, followed by a passionate performance from Celisse.
The night was rounded up with a trip back with Boy George & Culture Club, before the impeccable guitar musings of Billy Strings, followed by the equally crafty Gary Clark Jr, before the night was sent home in epic fashion by one of the most reliable bands in rock and roll: My Morning Jacket.
