The story of Trademark Issues is one where its two members met back in 2019 (remember life back then?), only since then speaking twice.

Yet that has not stopped their musical endeavors, with their third album EIGHT coming out h their third album EIGHT coming out this summer. One of the highlights is the single “Gustav Files’ a power pop anthem that feels very Pavement in its delivery of slacker anthemic guitar work and hooky vocals that transport you back in time. The track is about German inventor Gustav Mesmer, as the band further detail below:

Gustav Mesmer (1903-1994) attempted to invent pedal-based and other types of flying machines. From southwest Germany, after trying to be a monk and a carpenter in his younger years, he spent 35 years in mental institutions. After his release he turned to making elaborate inventions to attempt human-powered flight, for which he became well known. And we wanted to celebrate his spirit.
