Brooklyn’s LAPÊCHE returned earlier this year with “Bottom Feeder – V1” and has since returned with the equally great “Mermaid Blues.”
The song features some great 90s indie rock sensibilities, with some garage rock instrumentation, a powerful crunch to the guitars, and a tight rythm section, all paving the way for some great vocal melodies from Krista Diem. It feels like a lot of the great sounds of the era, just very much on their own terms.
