Los Angeles natives Dear Boy don’t take long to win you over on their triumphant single “Forever Sometimes,” which is the title track from their album out next week via Last Gang.
The track shimmers with a distinct blend of 80s new wave in a delicate and emotive way that is dripping from the seams with nostalgia and melancholic wonder. A big pop-friendly chorus actually serves to make its point with purpose – the sort of song you can imagine soundtracking a heartfelt scene in a movie, and it works without inducing an eye roll.
