During the pandemic, Mamalarky drove from their home in Los Angeles to Atlanta, rented an old house, and took it on their own to record their new record, which is entitled Pocket Fantasy, and will be out on September 30th via Fire Talk.
One of the lead singles ahead of its release is the jittery “Mythical Bonds” a track featuring mathy angular guitar with an artful presence to it all, wildly combined with the track’s airy vocal work.
Speaking on the track, the band added:
So we decided to shake ourselves loose and make this serotonin rock song about how much we love each other–to push past all those hunched-over studio hours and create this little summer memento. At the time we were having a lot of pond, lake and pool-side hangs, laughter under the beating heat. At the end of those days all we wanted to do was come home and synthesize those feelings in our studio.”
