James Varghese is a Swiss-based artist who has won our cold hearts with his impressive debut single “Fairfield Rd.” He describes the song as a tribute to the time that he spent in East London in 2019, recorded at the biggest synthesizer museum in the world.
The track is just oozing melancholic feelings of love lost, love found, and all the trials and tribulations of growing up and staying alive in this crazy yet wonderful world.
Or as Varghese describes much better:
In 2019 I got to spend a 6 months residency in London. It was an amazing experience and I loved the city and the people and the food and the music and just about everything. But most of all I loved the area I lived in: Bow. It’s not the most glamorous part of the city But there was something very real about it, something honest. And if I ever move back to London I will be looking for an apartment in Bow!
«Fairfield Rd» is a memory of the street I used to live on and the time I spent there. Memories of Victoria Park and breakfast at Mae + Harvey. Or Roman Road market and turkish food at Sultan Sofrasi
If you want to feel nostalgic and sentimental for 2 minutes and 37 seconds, this is the soundtrack for that journey
