Nisa is back with her new single “Exaggerate” the title track off her forthcoming Exaggerate EP, which will be released on September 30th, the debut release on Los Angeles-based label, Hit The North Records.

“Exaggerate” sees Nisa expand her sound into new territory, a more dance and pop terrain than her previous material. From the electronic vocal effects, you immediately notice a sonic shift in the direction of artists like Imogene Heap / Frou Frou – who Nisa marks as influences in this experimental pop era of her sound.

Speaking about the new single, Nisa says:

It takes a while for me to internalize things, and usually that means I have to make sense of my thoughts on my own before I can open up to others. “Exaggerate” is about recognizing the intensity of a really special, fast-moving thing, and desperately wanting to speed that process up in myself.

While most artists struggle to make such a shift, especially early into their career, Nisa makes the transition seem natural and fitting, crafting a pop song that still carries the same sincere emotional weight that all of her songs do.
