This Friday sees Toronto synth-pop band Rapport return with their new EP Floating Through The Wonderwave, which will be released via Arbutus Records.
“Video Star’ channels all the best elements of the 80s with a vibrant synth-led rock sound that goes for some honed-in bombastic elements of the era, which are grounded by the grounded and lovely vocals of singer Maddy Wilde. A groovy dream popper that channels nostalgia in the best way imaginable.
Speaking on the track she adds:
Whenever I find myself compulsively opening social media apps again and again on my phone, I’ll do a delete. Getting rid of these apps has always been the best way to combat the addiction. But then I find myself needing them again to promote a show or a new song etc. And the cycle continues
