Lexie Carroll is a 17-year-old rising star out of London who captured our hearts with her touching track “the sky looked nice today”, which is taken from her recently shared EP, when the sun came up. Keeping the momentum strong, Carroll has returned with new single “if i built my home from paper”.

It’s equally as affecting and gorgous, delivering a fragile sentiment from the opening notes and lines, with her vocals commanding your attention with gravitas. There is just a natural nature to her songwriting style and vocal delivery that feels like its been with you your whole life. Adorned with wonderous strings and fitting instrumentation, it’s yet another gem from the wunderkind.

Discussing the track, Carroll adds:

“I wrote if I built my home from paper for my mum, but I think the song is applicable to any sort of relationship where someone can make the world feel safer and help to untangle some of the chaos with you. It’s a very special thing to have, I feel very lucky and I hope everyone who listens has that person whether they’re family or someone else.”
