Misty Coast is the dream-pop child of Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust, known from the Norwegian noise rock act The Megaphonic Thrift.

Last year saw the duo return with their third album, When I Fall From The Sky, and they have since returned with new single “Brainchild”, the first in a series of singles that will be released throughout 2022.

The track blends dreamy lush indie-pop with a hint of soaring psych ideas that also aren’t afraid to broaden into glorious pop moments. Like a mix of Cults and Beach House, it’s a colorful anthemic powerhouse that will take you on a melancholic journey.

Enjoy a listen to the track below, along with a quote from the band about its meaning:

Brainchild is the result of a kind of creative and musically relay. It all started with a guitar riff made by Richard, played through a backwards pedal chain that makes the guitar sound very distinct (send an e-mail for further geeking). After a period with a lot of new acquaintances and generous portions of positivity and fresh ideas, Linn made a vocal and text, which is a kind of tribute to all the beautiful, creative people you have in life that you admire and are so infinitely inspired by.
