Brooklyn-based trio Pamphlets are preparing for the release of a new EP, which includes the recently shared single “Flowers.” We previously shared their 2021 single “It Feels Like.”
There is a blend of 80s art rock and a charming 90s power pop naturalism to the track, which carries itself with a distinct and smartly crafted tone. Shimmering guitar work and observant lyrics all add up to a really great effect.
The band detail “Flowers” meaning below, where you can also check out a stream of the slick track.
Flowers is an anti war song, but instead of focusing on assertive activism it narrates the timeline of an era of conflict from its glorified beginnings, its strain of war weariness and its eventual chaotic climax and the reflective resolution.
