Ea Othilde is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter based out of Norway who released their debut EP, How I’d Like It to Fade, via Koke Plate back in late March. We previously shared single “I Couldn’t Be There” and today we take a look at three other offerings from the release.

There is the sparse and devastating folk power of “Green River” which showcases some Phoebe Bridgers-like delivery and a haunted delivery that channels so many titans of the genre of the past. There is a pop nature to it all but all done in a smart and emotive fashion.

“Elliott” leans a bit more into pop fair, still carrying the torch of the folk-rock navigation, just with a bit more of bedroom pop and slight electronic vision. It showcases her already wide net of range as a songwriter.

Closing the EP is “Yore”, a psych-ballad about “walking in circles and feeling inadequate in important situations in life.” It once again blurs the line of the genre, reminding a bit of the way that Helena Deland so wonderfully threads the needle and ends up finding a path completely of her own.

It’s a wonderful debut EP, a great release on its own but also more impressive considering this is just the start of a very promising career.

You can find all the songs available to listen to below where we have embedded the entire EP.
