Panda Riot is a Chicago-based band that taps into all the best elements of shoegaze and 90s rock on their blistering new single “1000%” taken from their upcoming new record Extra Cosmic.
The song, which is described as a song about endless desire, taps into that with some gorgeous shoegazy guitar work and a rather hook-filled chorus that surprisingly finds ways to bring a pop sensibility to the lush fuzzy distortion and goodness. Like a mix of My Bloody Valentine, The Breeders, and Best Coast.
Find “1000%” available to stream now below, along with a quote from the band about the track’s meaning:
about wanting everything all at once even if it destroys you. It expresses an all-consuming, self-destructive need that makes you want to burn everything down and hold it all forever at the same time.
