The Real J Israel is an up-and-coming r & b and soul singer from Atlanta, Georgia, who spent most of his early life in and around gospel choirs being the son of a minister. This time taught him the power of music and the impact of soul.
So on his new album For The Sake Of R&B, he set out to create the sort of r&b back when it was “more melodic, sexier, and exuding classic energy.
He does so exuberantly on the album’s standout single “I Love You” a track that feels like it could stand amongst the titans of the genre back in the 90s. The production turns back the clock, along with the soulful vocals that sound like a future classic in the making – as well as a reminder of what makes the genre so good.
