Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Mimi Raver has recently returned with her nostalgic single “Sad Faced Boy”, a song that is described by her as being a narrative about someone you observe in proximity to yourself.

Or as she describes further:

You might have ideas about what’s going on in their head based on the way they carry themself in the world. When it comes down to it though you never really know whats going on unless you ask them.

The track feels like a blend of the eccentric indie rock / pop of Alexandra Saviour combined with the retro-pop musings of Lana Del Rey. Gorgeous arrangements that feel timeless and full of cinematic heft, with some smart pop hooks.
