woods at nite is the project of Louisville-based artist, Zac Goldstein who recently released his new album, see through house. The album is perfect for fans of raw and vulnerable indie/folk rock in the vein of Neutral Milk Hotel, Alex G, or The Microphones.
One of the highlights is the intimate “the sound” a track that has its heart and mind in the 90s indie rock scene, a personal encounter that feels like an intimate discussion that you almost feel like your intruding on just by listening.
About the track, Goldstein details its origins:
“the sound” opens with the only swear word on the album and it’s essential to the gravity and humor of the statement: “fuck the b-side, glue this down to your table and play me with your head against the leg to cool your doubts.” A reference to the comfort I get from the records that stay on my turntable for weeks on end, pushing it into blissful absurdity by inviting the listener to destroy their record player because this one side of this one album is so good for them.
