Ea Othilde is a 17-year-old singer-songwriter based out of Norway who released their debut EP, How I’d Like It to Fade, via Koke Plate back in late March.

“I Couldn’t Be There” is a standout offering and single from the EP, one that revels in a gorgeous atmosphere that sits somewhere between bedroom pop and a tender indie-folk confession. There is a warm and distinct Nordic quality to it that gives it a distinctive sonic texture and glow, one that feels mysterious and ethereal.

About the track, Othilde adds:

“I couldn’t be there” is a little indie rock tune about all the things you want to do, all the places you want to go, everything and everyone that’s out of reach. It’s the sound of time slipping through your fingers, the soundtrack of roads leading nowhere”
