Bristol’s kaleidoscopic collective Pocket Sun will return with their Binocular EP on May 13th via Chiverin Records.
“Wake Up” is the lead single from the album, a gorgeous blend of dreamy pop and synth-pop that is every bit as dreamy as a song of the genre should be. A Sun-soaked mix of chill bedroom pop vibes and 90s shoegaze and dream pop collide into something that just feels as cool as a cucumber and totally relaxing/soothing.
About the song, the band’s Gina Tratt, the singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and visual artist who leads Pocket Sun, explains:
Realising it’s too easy to put on a mask to the outside world and caving under the pressure to shape ourselves into a society-conforming mould, to feel accepted, we follow the lead of influential people and hide away our honest-self and unfiltered lives. The video concept expands on this theme through a physical metamorphosis, awakening our insecurities and transforming them into a unique confidence.
