Sweet Lu is a rather new addition to the Australian music scene, with the newly released single “18” their debut single as well as one of the first songs that they ever wrote.
Written about the songwriter’s relationship with their long-term partner the song “encapsulate all the good and bad experience that we have been through as a couple, and being grateful for all the time we spend together.” There is a youthful swagger to it all, with a jangly spirit that reminds of some of that loose ramshackle garage indie rock sound of bands like Twin Peaks and even some early Mac DeMarco.
