Slow Drift was formed across the Atlantic Ocean by Oxford-based multi-instrumentalist and producer James Askwith and Canadian singer-songwriter Jenn Steeves.
The duo exchanged audio files recorded in a living room and kitchen during the lockdown, the result is haunting and ethereal tracks such as the duo’s second single “Winter”, the follow-up to their debut single “Oblivion.”
The track captures a cinematic and atmospheric blend of dark electronic synthscapes with a powerhouse vocal performance that will break your heart. Like a mix of Burial, Purity Ring, Portishead, and The xx, “Winter” is a powerhouse effort that will leave you transfixed.
