Particle Kid, the moniker of Micah Nelson’s (son of Willie) experimental future-folk project, is set to release his new double-album, Time Capsule which will be released on April 22nd.
We previously shared its first single “Someone Else’s Dream” and he has since returned with the lovely synth and folk fusion “Along the Timey Road”. A blend of gorgeous synths, classic rock guitars, and some nostalgic arrangements all add up to a delightful effect.
Discussing “Along The Timey Road”, and how it relates to the album as a whole, Micah stated”
I’ve always loved the idea of writing a letter to your future self and putting it inside a time capsule – reflecting back years and years later, realizing how much you’ve grown and maybe what you’ve lost and must try to regain. This song is kinda a twist on that; the idea is essentially a letter/transmission from the future-self to the present-self, in hopes the message to stay humble will be received somehow.
