Cartinglee is the solo project of Rachelle Barr, a singer/songwriter from Ooltewah, Tennessee. She’s recently won us over with her new single “Picture of the Cloud,”
It’s a song that she wrote in February of 2020 and as she describes it: “recorded it slowly in my living room over the past two years. It’s the second song in a cycle about living in the aftermath of profound change.”
The track has a bit of an early 2000s indie rock and pop crossover charm to it, with an infectiousness about it that has a bit of a jittery blend of pop and rock. Halfway through, just when you think you have the song figured out, Barr churns out a big soulful classic rock solo, bringing the song to an entirely new place.
