Operation Ivan is the solo project of British singer-songwriter Conor Clements, member of the rising post punk band Hallan.
After find the need to create something with more intimacy that didn’t quite fit in with the sonic template of his band, the demoes of these songs took a life on their own.
This resulted in a four-song EP entitled A Spoonful of Sugar, compsisting of home recordings such as the lead single and title track “A Spoonful of Sugar.”
The track feels plucked from a different eras entirely, like a 60s rock/pop classic record that your parents forgot they had under that shelf. A mix of retro pop, indie folk, and love-longing songwriting that just doesn’t exist quite, in the same way, these days.
