Nolune is the solo project of Los Angeles singer/songwriter Nolyn Ducich and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Bermudez. Together they intertwine folk-rock sensibilities with ambient production, which results in such gems as their recently released third single, “California” (as well as last summer’s “Grace”)
Sounding both intimate, raw and vulnerable, yet featuring a quietly expansive sound that feels cinematic and full of wonder. They find a way to bring the folk sound to a bit of a place of its own, transportive and full of imagination – not to mention packing a serious emotional punch.
Or as they describe it:
The song California is about tying an entire state to a single person and thinking the only way to get away from heartbreak is by moving out of said state. The ambient production adds a sort of twinkling sadness as well as a warm melancholic type of atmosphere to the track, perfect for a late night drive or a brisk winter walk.
