Contemporary Adult, the project of Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Zach Farr, has recently returned with their expansive new single “Whale’s Call.”
What starts off as a melodic blend of indie rock, folk, and a hint of psych, sound expands into a Grizzy Bear-esque meditation of crisp guitar work and a dreamy texture of its own that takes the mind on quite a journey. The guitar work and melodies have a lot of Daniel Rossen qualities, which is never a bad thing. While it touches upon many different genres, “Whale’s Call” is something of its own entirely.
