British post-punk outfit Home Counties recently released thier new EP In A Middle English Town via Alcopop! Records. We previously shared EP track “The Home Counties” and today hit back with the closing effort “Village Spirit.”
The song, which is loosely based on a book by historian Alain Corbin, is full of well-crafted and colorful art rock and post punk elements that are compiled into a jubilant creation of its own. Like a mix of Squid, Shame, and David Byrne, it’s a life-affirming joy that pushes the 80s indie rock genre into a bold direction.
