Glides is a lo-fi, surf rock, bedroom pop project out of Australia that turns in a winner in their new track “222.” Described as a song about “the feelings and experiences you have right after coming out of a relationship, all whilst hoping for better things to come” the song is a perfect fit for the 80s charm and production that comes with it.

Slick drum beats, groovy basslines and a love-sick vocal infliction call to mind many of the greats of the new wave genre and 80s indie, mainly New Order and The Smiths. Not to mention some more modern acts like Craft Spells and The Drums. It’s smooth, full of youthful life and vigor, and catchy as hell.

About the track, the band provides a bit of insight:

‘222’ is a song about the feelings and experiences you have right after coming out of a relationship, all whilst hoping for better things to come. Lyrically; it encapsulates the feeling of sleeping with new people and the constant memories of your past relationship playing in your head during the initial breakup period.
